Here you will find information about your Student E-mail, Microsoft Teams and e-books. If you experience any difficulty please e-mail us with your full name and class to helpdesk@northmonastery.ie.

How To Access Your Student E-mail

To access your student e-mail go to the following website www.office.com. Use your student e-mail and password to log-in. You can also download the app Microsoft Outlook for your mobile, tablet, or iPad from either Google Play or the App Store.

What will I need to take part in online learning?

  • A device (tablet/PC/laptop/iPad/mobile)
  • You will need access to Wifi

How can I access Microsoft Teams?

  • Microsoft Teams can then be accessed through a mobile phone, tablet, PC, laptop, iPad, XBOX, and PlayStation.

Mobile:

Tablet/iPad:

  • Students can download the Microsoft Teams App through the Android and Apple Store.
  • Alternatively, students can access Microsoft Teams using an internet browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Use your browser to sign-in here.

Laptop/PC:

  • Depending on your model of Laptop/PC you can download the Microsoft Teams App or alternatively you can access the web or app version by going here.

XBOX:

  • You can connect to Microsoft Teams via XBOX by using Microsoft Edge.

PlayStation:

How can I log in to Microsoft Teams?

  • You can log into Microsoft Teams by using your student e-mail and your password. If you experience difficulty accessing your e-mail you can e-mail our Help Desk (helpdesk@northmonastery.ie). Our help desk is available from 9 am to 4 pm each day Monday through Friday.

What is the best method for accessing classes online?

  • Teachers will make use of online classes and upload resources, to access these classes, mobile phones may not be suitable. It is advised you make use of PC/Laptop/Playstation/Xbox.

E-books

Many of the textbooks your son uses in class are available in an e-book format.

Please follow the instructions below.

  1. You will need to know the name of the book
  2. You will need to know the name of the book publisher
  3. You will need a unique code, this is usually found from the inside cover or back cover of the book (if you do not have access to the physical book, some book publishers are providing free access to books due to remote learning you will need to check directly with the individual book publisher).

  1. Register with FolensHIVE and redeem your first eBook with the unique licence code from the inside cover of your textbook.
  2. Download the FolensHIVE app from the relevant app store on your device.
  3. Log-in to your FolensHIVE account on the app to use your eBook or redeem additional eBooks.
  4. Click or tap the download button underneath the eBook cover to download.
