This year the North Mon History Club was founded by a number of students ranging from 1st to 6th years. This inaugural year proved to be very busy for the students who set about reviving an interest in the rich history of the school and establishing a heritage stairs in the school where the schools past achievements will be put on show. The junior students in the club have conducted a lot of research into famous past pupils of the school as well as former members of staff while the senior members of the club have worked very hard in promoting the peaceful message embodied within the Irish flag and as espoused by its creator Thomas F. Meagher
The club was also busy with other projects throughout the year such as:
- Flag day
- EU poster competition to help commemorate WWI and 1916
- Representing the school at junior cert quizzes in both history and geography,
- A pen pal project with a French school in Toulouse to help commemorate WWI
- An end of the year the students will also host an exhibition from UCC on the war of independence
