Computer coding projects driving the Mons success for BT Young Scientist

Home / News / School News / Computer coding projects driving the Mons success for BT Young Scientist

The North Monastery CBS has successfully achieved six projects qualifying for the BT Young Scientist competition.  Each of the projects involves an understanding of electronic circuits and having the ability to compile code for functionality. Students have shown aptitudes for both of these skill sets. The Mon has tremendous expertise in these areas due to the teaching staff past experience working in Research & Development and the design of commercial products. These skills are directly transferable to our students learning and students have flourished in the design and development of various projects that are linked to skills required in critical and creative thinking. Below is a sample of students work in building the robots and the development of functionality (coding) for obstacle avoidance and line tracking.
