On the 1st of May, the North Mon History Club attended an award ceremony in City Hall. The ceremony was to acknowledge all those in the city that had submitted award-winning projects to the 2018 Cork School’s Heritage Programme. The Club was successful in submitting two award-winning projects in this, its first year entering the competition. The Winning projects were on the Legacy of Br Burke and the Lord Mayors that have been past pupils of the Mon, showing that in such a historic school inspiration is never far away.
The achievement is perhaps made even more impressive when we think that there are close to 30 schools in the city and only 6 were awarded prizes for their work and has made their teacher Mr. Ryan very proud.
“The diligence that the boys displayed when creating these projects is proof of how hard work and genuine interest in a topic can lead to success” – Mr. Ryan.
