North Monastery Secondary School is closed from March 12th until further notice, as directed by The Government of Ireland. This closure is due to on-going concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across Europe and the wider world.
All primary and post-primary schools will remain closed in the Republic of Ireland up to Sunday, March 29th. The Government of Ireland will make a decision as to whether to reopen schools after this date.
As it stands all oral examinations for Leaving Certificate 2002 have been cancelled and these will be rescheduled in due course, details regarding this will be posted at www.examinations.ie and www.education.ie in the coming weeks.
All other school events have been suspended until further notice.
Work for students:
Students are now asked to complete coursework which is available to students by using Edmodo. Teachers will supply their class groups with project work, homework and other work associated with their learning. The HSE and WHO strongly advise citizens to wash their hands regularly with soap and warm water. People are also asked to keep a distance of 2 metres between one another and to continue social distancing for the next two weeks or more. Young people are advised not to convene in large groups. Events with groups with over 100 people are prohibited. For further details click here.
